Reviving the Spirit of 1776: A Call to Remember, Honor, and Restore Liberty

As we approach the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding in 2026, this coming year holds profound significance for every American who cherishes the blessings of liberty. This is not just a historical milestone—it is a call to revival, a moment to rekindle the flame of freedom that our Founding Fathers ignited with their courage, conviction, and unwavering faith in Almighty God.

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." — 2 Corinthians 3:17

This powerful truth encapsulates the heart of the American experiment. Our liberty is not granted by kings or governments—it is endowed by our Creator. This was the revolutionary belief that guided the signers of the Declaration of Independence, who boldly declared that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights."

They understood that true freedom comes not from man, but from God. They founded a nation on eternal truths, not temporary whims. And though the promise of freedom was not yet fully realized in 1776, especially for the enslaved, the Founders laid the groundwork for its eventual fulfillment. They penned those sacred words with the hope and intention that one day all Americans—regardless of race or station—would stand equal in liberty.

The sacrifices made over these 250 years have been immense. Patriots have shed their blood and laid down their lives so that we might live free. Soldiers, statesmen, and citizens alike have carried the torch of liberty through battles seen and unseen. We must not let that light dim in our generation.

Today, that torch is carried by groups like the 917 Society. With a mission to educate, inspire, and equip young Americans with the truth about our Constitution and our heritage, the 917 Society is helping ensure that the next generation understands where their rights come from—and how to defend them. By placing a pocket Constitution into the hands of every 8th grader in America, we remind our youth that their rights are not given by government—they are God-given and must be protected with vigilance.

As we look toward 2026, let this be a year of reflection, renewal, and revival. Let us remember the sacrifices of those who came before, honor the God-given principles they enshrined, and commit ourselves anew to the cause of liberty.

May this anniversary not merely be a celebration of the past, but a reawakening for the future—a revival of our Founding Principles, rooted in faith, freedom, and the enduring truth that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
