Saturday Spotlight: Freedom Must Be Taught -- America 250

America 250 - 1776-2026

The Constitution was not written for one generation alone. It was written to preserve liberty for every generation that would follow.

As America celebrates 250 years of independence, we remember that the Founders understood something powerful: Freedom is never automatic. It must be taught. Protected. Passed on.

In the very first days of our new government in 1789, Americans were not united by wealth, background, or geography. They were united by shared principles: Faith. Liberty. Personal Responsibility. Self-Government.

George Washington knew the success of this new republic would depend on the character and knowledge of its people. That responsibility now belongs to us.

At The 917 Society, we are working to place Americas founding documents directly into the hands of students across the country. Every 8th grader in America deserves to hold, read, and understand the Constitution -- the document that defines what it means to be an American citizen.

Read it. Know it. Carry it.

This Constitution Day -- September 17, 2026 -- make sure every student in your school has a copy. Request free Constitutions for your 8th grade classroom at 917society.org.

Want to support the mission? Every copy purchased on Amazon helps fund free Constitutions for classrooms across America. Grab your copy here: http://bit.ly/4bZn8dk
