At The 917 Society, we believe that every young American deserves to know, carry, and cherish this founding document.

Why Constitution Day Matters
September 17th marks Constitution Day, a federally mandated day to commemorate the signing of our Constitution in 1787. But let’s be honest—too many students pass through school without ever reading this remarkable charter of freedom. Many don’t know their rights, their history, or the brilliance of our founding system of checks and balances.
That’s where The 917 Society steps in.
We’re on a mission to reach every 8th grader in America—public, private, and homeschooled alike—with a personal copy of the U.S. Constitution and free educational resources at no charge to students or teachers. This isn’t just about civics; it’s about igniting a love for liberty at a time when it’s never been more needed.
What Each Student Receives
Every Constitution booklet we distribute contains the original text of:
The Declaration of Independence
The U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights and all 27 Amendments

This year, our goal is ambitious and urgent: reach 2 million 8th graders across this country.
