“No Kings” Disrespects Our Army, Constitution, and Sacrifices of Patriots

On June 14, 1775, our Continental Army was born to uphold liberty, reject monarchs, and ensure that “no king” would ever rule over America. Nearly 250 years later, the U.S. Army stood strong on its quarter‑millennial anniversary—yet the “No Kings” protests twisted its meaning. This wasn’t a self‑serving birthday parade—it was a commemoration of our Army’s founding, planned long before the 2024 election. Instead, media and opposition leaders falsely spun it as President Trump celebrating himself.

The event featured thousands of service members, historic uniforms, tanks, aircraft, bands, wreath ceremonies at Arlington, and fireworks: the full tribute to heritage emphasized by the Army itself. Yet mainstream media headlines painted it as a vain, authoritarian spectacle that launched hypothetical protests—ignoring more than two centuries of sacrifice by our military families.

A Media-Fueled Misconception, Not a Celebration of Power

Opposition leaders and entertainers portraying the military tribute as Trump’s kingly birthday bash created division—while offering no substantive policy proposals or ideas, only insults and inflammatory rhetoric. The “No Kings” protests, held in over 2,100 cities were driven by symbolic fervor—not grounded strategy.

Where were the solutions? Discussion of border reform, veterans’ care, economic security? Absent. All we heard was baseless fury and constitutional ignorance. For those against Trump and his America First policies, in four years, they will have another chance to vote for a leader they choose, thanks to our U.S. Constitution.

While the Constitution clearly ensures no kings—our founders designed that system using blood, courage, and sacrifice—these protesters inverting that symbol undermined the very legacy that our Army defends.

Misguided Voices, Misinformed Participants

Our 1st Amendment right to Peaceful Protest is guaranteed, but for a protest to be effective, it should have a legitimate reason. A baseless chant of "No Kings, No Crowns" truly showed ignorance of our Constitution and our Army's sacrifices to uphold and defend it, many with the ultimate sacrifice of their lives, so that we do not have a "King". Circulating videos on TikTok and X of protest interviews show many participants aimless and uninformed, parroting "Trump is Terrible"” without being able to give any specifics of what they thought was so terrible. People manipulated like sheep—not out of patriotism, but from trending narratives. That’s tragic. Our Constitution doesn’t forbid using patriotic symbolism for an Army anniversary. It prevents monarchical power. Our Army ensured that in 1776—and still defends it today.

Respect for Heroes, Not Hateful Billionaires

Veterans and their families who stood for us—they deserve respect. Yet what happened was disgraceful: wealthy organizations and billionaire-funded nonprofits stoking hate, disrespecting our flag, freedom, and those who sacrificed so much, choosing the day reserved to honor our Army. It’s a constitutional education failure, and highlights why organizations like The 917 Society are more essential than ever.

It’s time to renew constitutional literacy, passing on the true meaning of words like “no kings”, and honoring those who secured our republic. Take a stand at www.917society.org to ensure our next generation truly understands and cherishes the document that protects their liberty.
