Dennis Lee

Dennis Lee, working with the New Jersey Convention of States, delivered 400 pocket Constitutions to  Burnet Middle School in Union, New Jersey on August 26, 2026. He followed up his delivery with the following letter to Burnet Middle School, administrators and wanted us to share it.  It is lengthy, but well worth reading.  What a unique idea and how fortunate we are to have volunteers such as Dennis Lee.  Thank you Mr. Lee and Convention of States for volunteering in this very important Mission.

Here is a Thank You Written Documentation Letter Follow-up: Constitution Week 2026: Donation of 400 Pocket Constitutions for Burnet Middle School

Dear Eighth Grade Vice Principal Andre Korb and Sixth Grade to Twelfth Grade Supervisor Dana Bobertz,

My name is Dennis Lee, and I am writing to you today not just as a volunteer courier for The 917 Society, but as a proud former Burnet Middle School student and a former United States Navy active duty veteran. Walking the halls of Burnet helped build the foundation of my life, which eventually led me to proudly serve approximately 8,000 hours on active duty aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), our nation's first prototype nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. It is an absolute honor to have the opportunity to give back to the very Burnet middle school community that gave me so much.

In preparation for the upcoming Constitution Week from September 17th to September 23rd, 2026, and in recognition of our nation’s approaching 250th anniversary, I would like to formally offer Burnet Middle School a donation of400 pocket Constitution guides. These materials are generously provided by The 917 Society to support your 8th-grade social studies department in fulfilling federal educational mandates and fostering a deep, interactive civic educational awareness among your Burnet middle school social studies students.

To properly objectively gratefully acknowledge the patrons who make this educational public educational material outreach possible, I would love to arrange a very brief meeting of introduction at your convenience to deliver the materials. During this brief visit, I would be incredibly grateful for a quick photo opportunity shaking hands with the Burnet Middle School eighth grade Social Studies Department Head. This simple gesture objectively demonstrates to our 917 Society donors that their funds are being put to highly effective use, actively objectively supporting Burnet’s 8th-grade dedicated middle school educators and engaging students during Constitution Week 2026. Furthermore, as your hallmark educational events conclude on Wednesday, September 23rd, I would be more than happy to volunteer my time to field advance-scripted personal testimony questions from your social studies students. It would be an educational privilege to share my definitive former highly diversely interesting experiences serving aboard an active duty historic USS Enterprise CVN-65 nuclear prototype aircraft carrier, bringing a real-world perspective of actual military duty, sacrifice, and civic social responsibility directly to their own real life Burnet Middle School real life eighth grade classroom social studies learning experiences..

From the bottom of my heart and soul, I want to personally take the time to thank you and your expert educational team of instructional staff for your tireless, soulful, passionate dedication to shaping the next generation of educationally informed American future citizens.

I will follow up shortly to see if we might coordinate a mutually convenient time for a brief but informal meet and greet mutual educational partnership introductions and perhaps even a photo opportunity with you, Dana Bobertz and your two most recent eighth grade social studies teacher’s grant award winning recognized recipients Joseph Costello and Allison Sheahen.

Thank you again for your time, your truly exceptional educational leadership, and your passionate educational commitment to Burnet Middle School educational experience.

Warmest and most sincere regards,

Dennis Lee
