My 8th graders and I thank you for our pocket Constitution! What a nice surprise! Here is a picture of our class celebrating Constitution Day on 9/17.
We're excited to enter this contest--We are Mrs. McGinley's 8th grade Social Studies class at Saint Andrew School in Newtown, Pennsylvania. The pocket Constitutions were much appreciated! Thank you again! Every American needs one. I love that your group distributes them to students.
My 8th graders are learning about the Civil War right now, so we switched up the lesson plan after receiving your pocket Constitutions. We reviewed what the Founding Fathers did (they learned that in 7th grade) and how it was so unique in a time of monarchs and emperors. We discussed why every American should read and learn the Constitution and memorize the preamble. The students chose to make banners for 9/17. They also gathered everything patriotic they could get their hands on for the picture, including a life-sized cut out of Thomas Jefferson. T
hanks! Maryellen
