The 917 Society Boards are proud to welcome back to the Congressional Founders Club, AMVETS, which is also known as American Veterans. AMVETS is the most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization open to representing the interests of 20 million veterans and their families. We are veterans serving veterans since 1944.

Founded in 1944 and chartered by an act of Congress, the AMVETS organization has more than 250,000 members nationwide. AMVETS exists to enhance the quality of life for all veterans, their families and survivors. Membership in AMVETS is open to anyone who honorably served or is currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves.

AMVETS Department of Tennessee, under the leadership of Commander Mark Frederick, is proud to be working with The 917 Society in supplying pocket size US Constitutions to a almost 40,000 8th Grade students in the state of Tennessee in 2020-2021 school year.

The 917 Society will be sharing our work at the National AMVETS Convention on Aug 19th in Greensboro, North Carolina in hopes of partnering and taking the US Constitution program nationwide in the 2020-2021 school year.   In the photo: AMVETS Post 22 Johnny Titlow and Tom Green and current TN State Commander Mark Frederick.
