Matthew Stowe

The 917 Society is excited to have as a Founders Club member, Matt Stowe.

Matt serves as the elected District Attorney of Judicial District 24. He is passionate about justice and helping victims and survivors of crime. His team proudly boasts a 100% conviction rate in homicides of all types for the last eight years. They have obtained twice the convictions for violent felonies as the previous administration.

Matt's primary area of focus within the DA's conference has been Elder Abuse. Serving first as Vice Chairman and later as Chairman of the State's Committee to protect Elderly and Vulnerable Adults, Matt was a drafter and primary architect of the Elder and Vulnerable Adult Protection Acts, which strengthened penalties for those who abuse elderly and vulnerable adults. He personally reviews every complaint of elder or vulnerable adult abuse that arises in his District.

Matt graduated from Dartmouth College summa cum laude in 1993 and Harvard Law School magna cum laude in 1996. He has an enduring love of the Constitution and the limited role of government it envisions. He is proud to support the effort to make sure our children learn about this important document. Education, he says, "is the key to ensuring that Government of the People, By the People, and For the People shall not perish from this earth."
